Ingrid Burg has been making and playing bamboo flutes for over 35 yrs. Her intention with the flutes is to reawaken that part of every person that longs to be attuned with their own creativity. She has a MS in Community Health Education, and has most recently brought the healing sounds of the flutes to a local hospital through the University of New Mexico Arts in Medicine program. She has lived, taught, and made flutes in New Mexico for over 30 yrs. She teaches people techniques for using music and breath to aid in stress relief and to reconnect with their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. Central to her method is the blending of physiology, vibrations, concentration, and expression.
Her son Avi Burg grew up around the flutes and has been playing for most of his life, he began co-creating them with Ingrid in 1998. He is a musician in his own right, playing flutes as well as the didgeridoo, guitar, hand drums and is a singer songwriter. His music is expressive and subtle, playing with the breath and tempo of the heart. Through his most recent project, Caduceus Rising, he began to synthesize music, meditation, and movement as one, creating a space for potent transformation in ceremonial as well as in relaxed settings. He has been trained as a Reiki Master and Sound/ Light Healer, and brings the vibrations of the flutes and didgeridoos into his healing sessions. He is currently studying the Acutonics healing system and is Actively Embodying and creating in the evolving work/play of Sound Healing. He believes that as more people learn to creatively express themselves through activities like flute playing, moving, and meditating, humanity is taking a huge step towards creating the world we dream of for our children. One where peace, love, and gratitude are not just words but everyday experiences. |
